DeWanderlaar, I think you encapsulated the whole jw attitude to life right there. We've all experienced it from both sides now, and yeah, the wt constantly taught us that everything is a drag.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an apology.
by stillin inthis is true everywhere but it seems especially true with the witnesses.
they seem to feel that since god forgives them, you should too, so you end up with these pathologically rude, crude people.. "get over it" is what my wife says if i tell her about some incident where i couldn't believe my ears.
but i have to remind myself that she is also like that.. but she's right, too, because who wants to spend the rest of their life as a victim?

Yet if some non jw did something to you, oh it's Satan and terrible and proves how bad this system is getting, we are getting sooo close to The End, fancy having to put up with that! and that people really need Jehovah in their lives. But a jw does it, oh well he's just an imperfect man who really means no harm and you have to forgive him.

The southern hemisphere also has south America in it...perhaps you mean the eastern hemisphere? Because if the gb broadcast the meeting live at say 4pm NYC's Sunday arvo, we'll get it here in eastern Australia at bout 9-10 am Monday morning! Can't imagine all the jws having to go to the hall Monday morning, even though it's a public holiday here.

Watchtower methods of subliminal messages
by ozziepost init isn't necessary to use words to convey a subliminal message.. take for example the use of illustrations (photos) found on page 26 in the february 15, 2001 issue of the watchtower.. the three pictures show witnessing in differenet parts of the earth, namely the east, europe, and africa.. 1. woman in smart asian dress with hat.. 2. man with black clothing replete with beret.. 3. african man with long sari type robe which is light brown in .
colour, quite smart and clean.. in each picture the witness is dressed in western business clothing whereas the person being witnessed to (the worldly person) is in native dress.. is this another subliminal message?
native or customary dress marks an individual as wordly?.

And y does Jesus in heaven as a spirit dude ALWAYS have whitefella features? What's wrong with giving him some lovely Asiatic eyes? More people have Asian features than any other type on earth.

Agape at work -how?
by Rip inthe essence of the christian congregation was the enlightenment of society by preaching (refer to jesus words 'you are the light') and the beautifying of society by acts of love, helpage that have positive impact on peoples lives (see good samaritan or james' words of the faith without action is dead).
why is the wts obstined at not doings acts of helpage?
even those within the congration especially in africa, no corporate social responsibility.

Unfortunately, the watchtower talks out of both sides of its mouth.

No getting an education.
No beards for men.
You must never mention any negative experience you've had with other jws or congregations.

Well yes, because a Christian congregation where true love is shown, that is, helping the disadvantaged and things like that is possible. There are groups like that where I live. That's when people actually live by the gospel and not a publishing corporation's narrow interpretation of it. Unfortunately, not all people are generous or charitable by nature, and jws have it beaten out of them in the push to get 'more hours'. If they made it so you could put time visiting the sick or helping the poor or volunteering for some charity on your field service report, jws would be lining up dto do those things, not out of love, but because the watch tower is all about results on paper to determine how 'spiritual' you are.
